Neymar On His Way Back To Santos: Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. is reportedly on his way back to his boyhood club Santos after a failed and injury-ridden stint with Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
Once one of the best and the most high-profile footballers on the planet in the 2010s. In 2023, after playing six seasons with French giants Paris Saint Germain, Neymar made a big-money move and moved to the Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal.
While the Brazilian was part of a wave of big-name players moving to Saudi Arabia to play their football, he was one of the most exciting names to arrive in the league. Not only is he an international superstar, but he is also one of the most skilful players on the ball.
Signed to one of the biggest contracts in football history, the 32-year-old reportedly received over 80 million Euros per year for his time in the Middle East.

However, his one-and-a-half-year stay in the Saudi Pro League has been nothing short of a disaster. After just five games for his new club, the superstar suffered an ACL rupture while out on national duty in October 2023. This injury kept him out for a year as he made his return to football in October 2024.
But just weeks after his return, Neymar suffered a hamstring injury that ruled him out for the rest of the year. In the 16 months he has spent with Al Hilal, who won the league in the absence of their megastar, the Brazilian attacker has played only seven games and has been out injured for almost the entire time.
The situation has deteriorated to such a point that he has not been registered in the team squad for the second half of the 2024-25 season.

Reports have now emerged that Neymar Jr. might be on his way out of Al Hilal anyway. Reputed transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano took to social media to report that the Saudi club has reached a verbal agreement with the Brazilian’s boyhood club back home—Santos—and that his return home is imminent.
“BREAKING: Neymar’s return to Santos is now imminent as verbal agreement has been reached. Formal steps to follow next week for final formula of the deal from Al Hilal and contracts to be checked. Neymar already said yes to the move… here we go, soon,” the tweet by Romano read.

Neymar first made his name at Santos. He was a two-time South American Player of the Year in the early 2010s and was the only player not playing in Europe to be a part of the 55-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or in 2012. He even won the Puskas Award for the most beautiful goal of the year in 2011 and finished third in the ranking in 2012 before making his way to Barcelona in 2013.
But it now seems that the career of one of the greatest Brazilian footballers of the 21st century and the leader of the national team for his generation is finally coming to an end.
