The Indian Premier League 2023 witnessed its first century of the season in the 18th match, as Harry Brook smashes maiden hundred, a batter for Sunrisers Hyderabad, achieved his first IPL hundred during the game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday.
In his debut IPL season, the English batsman Brook achieved his first half-century and then proceeded to turn it into a century in just 55 balls. As the opener for SRH, he carried his bat throughout the innings and hit an impressive 12 fours and three sixes during his rapid innings.

Brook’s outstanding century helped Sunrisers achieve a huge score of 228/4 against KKR on the scoreboard, despite being asked to bat first.
Despite only scoring 29 runs in his first three games, Brook was bought by SRH for a staggering Rs 13.25 crore. However, he quickly found his rhythm and hit a century off just 55 balls, which included an impressive 12 fours and three sixes.

After being dropped by rookie leg-spinner Suyash Sharma off his own bowling, the Englishman received a reprieve when he was on 45. However, he quickly made up for it by reaching his half-century in just 32 balls.

Moreover, Brook showcased his exceptional batting skills by hitting five fours in a single over against the fiery pacer Lockie Ferguson, who had earlier been given a caught-behind decision that was overturned. This helped Brook reach his first century of the season, which he achieved by scoring a single off Umesh Yadav in the final over.
“I’ve had a bit of trouble with spin, but I wanted to use the powerplay to my advantage. So (in the) middle overs I wanted to rotate strike and let the other boys do the hitting. It is a belter of a pitch,” – Brook said.
“My girlfriend is here but the rest of my family have just left. I’m sure they’ll all be very happy for me.“
