Neymar Gives An Update On His Recovery: Brazilian superstar Neymar has sent out a message following speculation regarding his return from injury and how it can be pushed back to 2025.
The former Barcelona icon signed with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. This came after years of trying and failing to win the UEFA Champions League with the French giants.
At the age of 32, the Brazilian looked to wind his career down with a move to the Saudi Pro League, maybe looking to dominate the league like another superstar of European football, Cristiano Ronaldo. Having been signed by Al-Hilal, Neymar is the second highest-paid footballer in the world, getting 1.7 million euros per week.
But the signing has not paid off yet for the Saudi club, as the former PSG star has been on the shelf with an injury since October 2023. During a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay, he suffered a knee ligament tear. And with this injury, he has been out of action for about a year.
The Brazilian international has played only five games for his current club, having become the latest footballing superstar to have arrived at the Saudi Premier League before his injury.
In the recent summer transfer window. Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami sent feelers to Al-Hilal over signing the Brazilian to reunite the famous MSN trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. But the club did not entertain any offers for their injured superstar.
There has been a lot of speculation in regard to Neymar’s return to the pitch. While there is not a lot of concrete information about his injury, the usual time a player is out with this particular injury is in 6-to-9 months, with it sometimes taking a full year to completely recover from.

But recent speculations suggested that the former Santos star will be on the shelf until 2025, which sets his time away from the field due to this tear to at least 15 months.
Amidst these rumours and reports, the Samba star took to social media to give a short update on his current recovery. Posting a picture of himself training on Instagram, Neymar wrote this in the captain,
“Work in silence. Don’t give up.”
It remains to be seen whether he could make his on-field return this year, or will Al-Hilal have to wait until next year to see their star signing play more than five matches for them?
