As Per Pakistan Could Play World Cup 2023 Matches In Bangladesh, The Asian Cricket Council has tentatively agreed to explore a hybrid model that would enable the tournament to be held in Pakistan, but with India’s matches being played at a neutral location that has yet to be determined. The UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, and even England are among the possibilities. The India-Pakistan matches, as well as the final if India qualifies, will be held at the neutral venue.

The PCB suggested a solution in informal talks that could also be implemented for the World Cup. The prestigious international tournament is set to take place in ten locations across India starting from October 5. However, the PCB has been stating for some time that their involvement or the manner of their involvement in the event is contingent on India’s decision regarding the Asia Cup. Bangladesh has been proposed as a viable alternative due to its proximity to India and the ease of logistical arrangements.

In 2021, the Asia Cup was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and was eventually held in the UAE, despite Sri Lanka being the original host. The hosting rights were exchanged between Sri Lanka and Pakistan due to the strained relations between India and Pakistan. Similarly, the 2018 Asia Cup was also relocated to the UAE from India for comparable reasons.
