Suryakumar Yadav Might Miss IPL 2024
However, it now seems that Suryakumar Yadav will miss much more than just the first week of IPL 2024. The explosive batter recently took to Instagram and posted a story with a broken heart emoji.
While no clear explanation about the reason behind this post, it for previously reported that Surya was to have his fitness test at the NCA today.
If he has failed that test, it might be the end of his hopes of playing in the upcoming IPL season.
It must be said again that there is no concrete news on this at the moment. The last official word he heard regarding this was on Monday when MI head coach Mark Boucher did not confirm Suya’s status, but had this to say –
“Surya at the moment is under the guidance of the Indian cricket team as well. Just waiting for updates on that. I don’t like to micromanage. We’ve got a world-class medical team that’s in control of all of that. Yes, in the past, we have had a few fitness issues. We are always going to be in that sort of domain of having fitness issues as other teams are as well.”
If Suryakumar Yadav ends up missing IPL 2024, it will be a massive blow for a Mumbai Indians side that is already embroiled in captaincy turmoil, allegedly.
