Varun Chakravarthy Dismiss Travis Head IND Vs AUS: Varun Chakravarthy has dismissed the dangerous Travis Head in the ongoing first semifinal between India and Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The India vs Australia semifinal is the first knockout match in CT 2025. The match is being played in the Dubai International Stadium and saw the Aussies win the toss and choose to bat first.

On the other hand, Australia finished second in Group B behind South Africa, defeating England, while matches against the Proteas and Afghanistan were washed away.

More crucially, the Aussies played all their group matches in Pakistan, where the pitches were batter-friendly, and scores of 300+ were regular. They have now travelled to Dubai for the semifinal, where the pitches support bowling a lot more, and scores of 280 seem above par.

Australia opened the batting with Travis Head, who has previously troubled India in knockout ICC tournament matches. He came out to bat with Cooper Connonlly, a man who is only playing his fourth ODI and is not a regular opener.

Both men struggled in the beginning against the Indian pace duo of Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya. Connolly played nine balls and, against the Indian bowling, did not score a single run, struggled the entire time, and was then caught behind in the third over by KL Rahul, becoming Shami’s first victim of the day.

But soon, the pitch seemed to have settled, and Travis Head found his groove. Head, who batted India out of the 2023 CWC final, had now started middling the ball, scoring boundaries, and putting fear in the hearts of Indian fans.

Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma had four bowlers in the first eight overs. But then,. In the ninth over, Varun Chakravarthy was introduced.
