The final match of WPL 2023 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals was a fitting end to the tournament, with both teams putting up a spirited performance. However, Mumbai Indians once again showed their class, clinching the title with a comprehensive victory over Delhi Capitals.

In the final match of the Women’s Premier League 2023, Mumbai Indians lost their openers early on. However, their skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat-Sciver played well to take the team out of danger. In the end, Amelia Kerr played a crucial role in taking Mumbai Indians (MI) to victory in the final over. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, lost three early wickets but their skipper Meg Lanning played a good inning. Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav played late cameos to help Delhi Capitals (DC) set a challenging total.

Hayley Matthews from Mumbai Indians took 16 wickets in 10 matches with an economy rate of 5.94, earning her the Rs 5 Lakhs prize for the highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Meg Lanning from Delhi Capitals won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament, with 345 runs in 9 innings, also earning her the Rs 5 Lakhs prize. This was the prize distribution in WPL 2023.

The Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore did not perform well in the tournament, as they were only able to win two matches out of the eight played. As a result, they were eliminated early in the tournament and could not progress further.
