Yashasvi Jaiswal Replace Gaikwad As Standby Player Of WTC Final 2023: In a significant development ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named as one of the three standby players for the much-anticipated clash between India and Australia which is going to happen at The Oval from June 7 to 11. Jaiswal’s inclusion comes as a replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad, who communicated his unavailability for the WTC due to personal reasons, as confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday.

Rajasthan Royals’ dynamic opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has emerged as a strong contender for the IPL’s Emerging Player of the Season, will now be part of the standby list for the World Test Championship. Gaikwad, known for his impressive performances in the IPL, informed the Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) about his inability to join the squad for the WTC due to his upcoming wedding on June 3. Consequently, the BCCI decided to replace him with Jaiswal on the standby list.

Jaiswal Replace Gaikwad As Standby Player Of WTC Final

As Yashasvi Jaiswal Replace Gaikwad As Standby Player Of WTC Final, Sources reveal that Ruturaj Gaikwad will be able to join the Indian squad in the United Kingdom only after June 5, making it logistically challenging for him to participate in the WTC final. As a result, Jaiswal, who possesses a valid UK visa, will be able to travel to London next week.

The young opening batsman has been in outstanding form, amassing 625 runs in 14 innings during the IPL 2023 season. With an impressive overall IPL record of 1172 runs in 37 matches, Jaiswal has proved his mettle as a prolific run-scorer.

The Yashasvi Jaiswal Replace Gaikwad As Standby Player Of WTC Final in the WTC final squad is indicative of his promising future in Indian cricket. At just 21 years old, his stellar performances in domestic and IPL cricket have positioned him as a strong candidate for national team selection in both T20 and Test formats. Additionally, there is speculation about a potential call-up to the Indian T20 squad for the upcoming tour of the West Indies, while his prospects for featuring in the red-ball format remain open as India is scheduled to play two Tests in the Caribbean in July.

Besides the news of ‘Yashasvi Jaiswal Replace Gaikwad As Standby Player Of WTC Final’, The Indian squad for the WTC final includes notable players such as captain Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Virat Kohli, and Cheteshwar Pujara. Meanwhile, Australia’s squad is led by captain Pat Cummins and features star players such as Steve Smith and David Warner.

The WTC final is set to be a thrilling encounter, with five days of intense cricket scheduled from June 7 to 11, followed by a reserve day on June 12 to compensate for any potential loss of play due to inclement weather or other factors.
