Jasprit Bumrah returns to Asia Cup: India’s star pace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, is back with the Indian cricket team after taking a brief hiatus during the Asia Cup. He had temporarily left the team to celebrate the birth of his first child. This timely return places him in contention for India’s first Super 4 match against arch-rivals Pakistan.

Jasprit Bumrah returns to Asia Cup

Jasprit Bumrah returns to Asia Cup: On Friday evening, Bumrah will rejoin the team for a practice session at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. The practice might be held indoors due to anticipated wet weather, as seen in Thursday’s session. Nonetheless, the weather in Colombo has been favorable on Friday, with no rain reported as of now. The Indian team is hoping for a productive net session.

Bumrah had left Sri Lanka immediately after India’s initial match against Pakistan on September 2. Consequently, he missed the second league encounter against Nepal on September 4. However, his comeback coincides perfectly with the crucial Super 4 fixture against Pakistan.

Colombo Leg Schedule

  • – September 9: Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh
  • – September 10: Pakistan vs. India
  • – September 12: India vs. Sri Lanka
  • – September 14: Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka
  • – September 15: India vs. Bangladesh
  • – September 17: Final

Will Rain Hamper the Second India vs Pakistan Tie?

However, the weather forecast for the upcoming week is less promising, with heavy rainfall expected in Colombo. Sunday, the day of the highly-awaited India-Pakistan clash, carries a 90 percent chance of rain. Similarly, there’s an 85 percent chance of precipitation on Saturday during Sri Lanka’s game against Bangladesh. Weather conditions are set to play a significant role in the latter stages of the championship.
