Kohli brother Asks Media to Stop Lying: Confirming that their mother is “fit and fine,” Virat Kohli’s elder brother, Vikas, has dispelled the rumors that had been suggesting that Virat had taken a leave to be with his reportedly ailing mother, Saroj.
After reaching Hyderabad, Virat Kohli pulled out from the first two Test matches against England just two days out from the first Test match, citing personal reasons.
Kohli brother Asks Media to Stop Lying
Over the past week, a rumor went viral on social media that Kohli’s mother is ill, and that is why the 35-year-old decided to skip two Tests against Ben Stokes’ team.
Having come across such talks among fans, on Wednesday, Vikas Kohli took to his Instagram to make it clear that their mother is healthy. Vikas also appealed to the fans and media to not spread such fake news.
“Hello everyone! I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom’s health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also, I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern,” Vikas Kohli wrote on his Instagram story.
Earlier this month, Virat Kohli also opted out from the first T20I against Afghanistan before returning to play in the next two T20Is.
The Indian team dearly missed Kohli’s services in the Hyderabad Test, which the hosts lost by 28 runs, conceding a shock and rare home Test match defeat. India will aim to bounce back with a win in the second Test match, starting February 2nd in Visakhapatnam, and then will eagerly be waiting for the return of Kohli for the last three Tests.
For the second Test, India will also be without Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul, as both are sidelined due to injuries. Rajat Patidar is expected to make his Test debut. Sarfaraz Khan could also get his Test cap, while Kuldeep Yadav is likely to get into the XI. With an extremely spin-friendly pitch anticipated in Vizag, India might replace Siraj with a batsman to have an extra batting cushion in the absence of Rahul and Jadeja.
