PAK Women vs SA Women 1st T20I Reports: In a nail-biting encounter, Pakistan emerged victorious against South Africa in their highest-ever successful chase in T20Is. Tazmin Brits’ remarkable 64-ball 78 for South Africa was overshadowed by a collective batting effort from Pakistan, with Sidra Ameen, Bismah Maroof, and Aliya Riaz playing crucial roles in securing the win.

PAK Women vs SA Women 1st T20I Reports: Brits Shines But Went in Vein

South Africa, opting to bat, witnessed a strong opening partnership as Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits combined for an impressive 85-run stand. Brits, in particular, displayed aggression and reached her eighth T20I fifty off 44 balls, ultimately accumulating nine fours and a six before being dismissed in the last over. As per the PAK Women vs SA Women 1st T20I Reports, South Africa concluded their innings at 150 for 3, adding 54 runs in the final six overs.

Pakistan’s Professional Chase

Pakistan, tasked with chasing 151, approached their reply methodically. Despite losing Shawaal Zulfiqar early to Marizanne Kapp, Sidra Ameen, and Bismah Maroof contributed a crucial 30-run partnership for the second wicket. However, Ameen fell victim to a run-out in the ninth over, followed by captain Nida Dar suffering the same fate ten balls later.

Riaz and Partnerships Keep Pakistan on Track

Bismah Maroof and Aliya Riaz then took charge, stabilizing the required run rate with an 18-ball 34 partnership for the fourth wicket. According to the PAK Women vs SA Women 1st T20I Reports, another run-out caused a setback, but Riaz and Muneeba Ali orchestrated a 43-run partnership for the fifth wicket, bringing Pakistan closer to the target.

As the game reached its climax, Muneeba was dismissed on the final ball of the 19th over, leaving Pakistan with eight runs to win in the last over. Aliya Riaz, however, displayed nerves of steel and, alongside Fatima Sana, sealed the thrilling victory on the last ball, with Riaz sending the ball to deep midwicket for the winning runs.

When is the Next Match?

With the win, Pakistan lead the 3-match T20I series 1-0. The next match will take place on March 3 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
