Abdul Razzaq criticizes India over the CWC Pitch: ICC Men’s World Cup is gone under the curtains, with Australia winning their sixth trophy and defeating India in the final. Abdul Razzaq thinks that India have used the pitch in their own favour, and the condition couldn’t have been any worse.
“Cricket won & India lost. Had India won the World Cup, it would have been a very sad moment for the game. They used conditions to their advantage, and I have never seen such a bad pitch for an ICC final before. It’s great for cricket that India lost,” he said.
Over the pitch controversy that had erupted during the World Cup, the ICC had to come out themselves to give clarification. ICC stated that the changes in the pitch were actually done by ICC’s independent pitch consultant.
“This change was made on the recommendation of the venue curator in conjunction with our host,” the ICC stated. “Changes to planned pitch rotations are common towards the end of an event of this length and have already happened a couple of times.
