Aakash Chopra Advises Caution To Yashasvi Jaiswal: Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra wants to see Yashasvi Jaiswal play it safe while opening for Rajasthan Royals.
RR is currently on top of the league table with four wins in four matches. Their bowling has been superb throughout the tournament and all of their batters have fired at least once in the tournament, all except Yashasvi.
Jaiswal has looked good with the shots he has played so far, but he is unable to score big runs on account of trying to bash the bowlers in the powerplay. Every time in this tournament he has gotten out, he has been dismissed because of this approach. Only scoring 29 in four innings as an opener is way below par.
Aakash Chopra Advises Caution To Yashasvi Jaiswal
Ahead of RR’s clash against Gujarat Titans, Aakash Chopra has released a match preview on his YouTube channel. In the video, he advised Yashasvi Jaiswal to focus and play cautiously.
Check Out:
“My first player in focus, who has been there since the first match and has become even more now, because Yashasvi Jaiswal, my brother, it’s been many matches, hit now. The way you are getting out against left-arm pacers when they bowl short balls, you might get a left-arm pacer in this team if they wish to play Spencer Johnson or Joshua Little.:
“So they might trouble you again by bowling short balls. So please play a little cautiously because no one has spoken about it thus far and I am still saying that based on the performances in the first seven matches, a question shouldn’t be raised over your place with regards to the T20 World Cup. However, people will say something, their job is to talk,” he continued.
Yashasvi Jaiwal’s opening partner Jos Buttler also looked to be out of form for the opening matches. But he came back in style with a classic 100 in RR’s last game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Rajasthan Royals will take on Gujarat Titans today in Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium to keep a hold on the top spot in the league table.
