Andre Russell Blows Past Australia In 3rd T20I: West Indies star allrounder Andre Russell smashed 71-off-29 balls, ensuring his side’s victory in the 3rd T20I against Australia.
West Indies took on the Aussies in the final T20I of the three-match series in Perth’s Optus Oval. With the home side having won the first two matches of the series, this was a contest of pride for the Windies.

After winning the toss, the side captained by Rovman Powell batted first and immediately headed towards a collapse, losing three wickets for 17 runs. The captain and Roston Chase did stabilise the innings but they too departed soon after, leaving the score at 19/5 in the ninth over.
It was now when the West Indies saw a much-needed partnership, with Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell grabbing the innings tight and taking the team for a ride. While Rutherford scored an excellent 67-off-40 in the 141-run partnership, it was Russell who stole the show, scoring 79 runs in just 29 balls in what was a vintage ‘Dre Russ’ spectacle.
The two men took their side to a massive score of 220. In response, Australia only managed to score 183 in their allotted 20 overs, making West Indies the winners of the match by 37 runs.
The highlight of Andre Russell’s innings was the 19th over, where he took Adam Zampa to town and scored 28 runs off the leg-spinner.
