PCB Confirmes Ayesha Naseem Retirement: PCB confirms the retirement of explosive batter Ayesha Naseem, leaving her from the Women’s Squad for the Asian Games 2023.

PCB Confirmes Ayesha Naseem Retirement

PCB’s head of women’s cricket, Tania Mallick, stated that the Board respects Ayesha’s decision to quick the cricket due to ‘personal reasons’.

“We wish the best of luck to Ayesha Naseem in her future endeavors as the PCB understands and respects her decision to quit the game for personal reasons,”

PCB Announces Pakistan Womens Squad for Asian Games 2023

In an exciting announcement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the 15-player squad for the upcoming Asian Games scheduled to take place from 19 to 26 September. According to PCB Confirmes Ayesha Naseem Retirement, The Pakistan women’s team, aiming for a hat-trick of gold medals after their triumphs in 2010 and 2014, is set to compete in the T20 format at the prestigious event.

The selection committee, led by Saleem Jaffar, alongside head coach Mark Coles and captain Nida Dar, carefully deliberated and finalized the squad. The team is a perfect blend of emerging talent and seasoned campaigners, representing the future of women’s cricket in Pakistan.

As per the PCB Confirmes Ayesha Naseem Retirement, The captaincy will be shouldered by Nida Dar, a talented all-rounder who has been a pivotal figure in the team’s successes over the years. Pakistan Womens Squad for Asian Games also features the return of Diana Baig, who has recovered from a finger injury sustained earlier this year. Her experience and skill will add depth to the team’s bowling unit.

The young brigade includes Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi, Nashra Sundhu, Nataliya Parvaiz, Sadaf Shamas, Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Umm-e-Hani. As per Pakistan womens squad for Asian Games, Exciting newcomers Anoosha Nasir and Shawaal Zulfiqar have received their maiden call-ups, a testament to their impressive performances in domestic cricket.

However, as per Pakistan womens squad for Asian Games, the squad will miss the services of former captain Bismah Maroof, who has opted out of the Asian Games due to the event’s regulations that prohibit athletes from bringing their children. The Asian Games will feature a T20 format, with Pakistan women’s team securing their spot in the quarter-finals based on the ICC T20I rankings. The tournament’s quarter-finals are scheduled to take place from 22 to 24 September, followed by the semi-finals on 25 September and the final on 26 September. The match for the bronze medal will also be held on the same day.

Head of Women’s Cricket, Tania Mallick, expressed her excitement about the team’s participation in the Asian Games. She highlighted the incredible dedication and skill displayed by the players and expressed confidence in their ability to clinch the coveted title for the third time.

In the lead-up to the Asian Games, the team will engage in a home series against South Africa, featuring three T20Is and three ODIs. According to PCB Confirmes Ayesha Naseem Retirement, This bilateral series, a part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, will be held in Karachi from 1 to 14 September.
