Six players who were part of the T20I team during the West Indies tour have been selected to stay in the squad: Jaiswal, Tilak, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan.

As per the India Mens Squad for 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, Rinku Singh, known for his strong hitting and finishing skills in the Indian Premier League, has received his first call-up, while Jitesh Sharma returns to the T20I squad after not being included in the West Indies touring party. Prabhsimran Singh has been included as an additional wicketkeeping option in the squad.

According to the India Mens Squad for 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, Washington Sundar and Rahul Tripathi have also made their way back into the T20I squad, along with all-rounder Shivam Dube, who last played for India in 2020. Shahbaz Ahmed and Shivam Mavi have also been included in the squad for the competition.

The reserve players include Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Sai Sudharsan, and the capped players Venkatesh Iyer and Deepak Hooda.

In a recent episode of The ICC Review, Ricky Ponting expressed admiration for Jaiswal and Gaikwad following their impressive performances in the Indian Premier League. According to India Mens Squad for 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, Ponting commended Jaiswal’s extraordinary IPL campaign and praised his immense talent. Regarding Gaikwad, Ponting stated that he believes Gaikwad has the potential to become a significant Test match player or excel in all formats of the game in the coming years.
