Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Fan Reaction: World Boxing Council (WBC) Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury recently took on former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou in a boxing match. The bout, billed as Battle of the Baddes, was won by Fury on split decision.
Taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 28, Tyson won the bout via split decision of the referees (94-95, 96-93, 95,94). With a record of 33-0-1, the English boxer was the favorite going into the fight. However, Ngannou, who was competing in his first professional boxing fight, very nearly did come out the victor. In fact, many fans believe that the referee’s decision was wrong, mistakenly or otherwise.

After such a disputed boxing match, coupled with the fact that this match was a clash of two worlds (boxing and MMA), it is only natural that the hype and the following social media reactions to this match are unlike anything seen before.
Many fans appreciated Ngannou’s boxing skills. The MMA fighter had left UFC earlier this year after a year-long contract dispute and joined PFL, which allowed him to participate in boxing matches. Fans appreciated the Cameroonian on his ring IQ and showing improvements in his punching game.
